This is the fourth time I have used Elite Movers. I have recommended your service to several people as I work in an industry that requires regular relocation. I was for the first time disappointed. The movers were good kids. This is a reflection of the company that hired them. Efficiency was impacted by the lack of communication or direction. An example of that is if one person was loading boxes and another wanted to load a heavier furniture item, the one mover would wait for an extended period of time for someone to be available to assist. Several times I had to suggest that person move on to something else that needed to be loaded or interrupt someone for help. We were happy to buy lunch for the crew but I did not appreciate the post lunch hour smoke breaks in which they felt it ok to flick cigarette butts into the lawn. The drivers car broke down on the 2.5 mile trip to the new house, we were down one guy for an hour and ran him back and forth to his vehicle. This interruption was made up for when a new crew arrived to assist unload. Four more hands for the 30 or mins they were there helped and we appreciated that. Then came the 2nd load which the guys were clearly unhappy about. We filled the truck 1/4 of the way and made 5 personal trips later in order to reduce the time. Since then I have had time to process this and I compared this to our previous experiences and times. We spent a total of 10 hours with this group including the one hour lunch period. Our previous moves which included one more bedroom (daughter has since then moved out) and more staircases took no more than 7 working hours. This group was two hours slower for less content. The result of not being terribly strong or efficient. Again, the attitude was positive and this is not a reflection on them. Two of them were kids and none of them were professional movers.

The movers did not bring any equipment to assist in the move. They did not inform me that it would be in my best interest to go to the nearest budget rent a truck and pick up three or four more dozen of moving pads. They packed wood on wood in the 26 foot truck. The lead man wanted to make a bet that he could get my entire house into that one truck when I clearly had to have the 16 foot truck in order to pull a car trailer with my car on it. So they only put a few things in the 16 foot truck when there was plenty of room. Most every piece of my furniture is scratched or gouged from the way it was packed. A couple of pieces are broken in which I have plenty of pictures to show the damage. I would appreciate the moving company hiring a furniture repair person to repair damaged. I was very disappointed to say the least. I have saved for many years and I do have nice furniture and I am very saddened that they did not treat it as if it were their own. I will be expecting an email or a phone call as to how the moving company intends to proceed.

9/25/2017Portable Storage Load The movers arrived on time, assessed the situation, provided me with my contract, then began moving. They were very efficient and moved the furniture out in less than 2 hours. I would hire them again, and would highly recommend them.
