We hired Propak hired for our move on 3/9/18. This move was contracted through Elite Moving Labor because of the decent done in our move out of Pittsburgh. JB, a representative of ProPak, called the night before the move. He was rude and complained about the location of our apartment (second floor) and that we had no elevators. This information was included in the quote and should not have been new to him. Instead, it sounded as if I was trying to convince him to take a job he has already agreed to do. We reviewed that time frame fore arrival, between 8 and 10 am the following day. At 9:59 am JB called to let me know he was outside. Actually he was up the street. And alone. I contracted for 2 movers for a minimum of 2 hours. JB stated his fellow mover was late because she had been working at FedEx overnight. JB was an out of shape man clearly well over 50 years old. To hear he would be joined by a mover who had already worked an extended shift overnight was not confidence building. The job included unloading our moving truck into a 10” uHaul van and then into our home. It took JB nearly a half hour to get the ramp off the truck and set up. He threw it around and dragged it I had the impression he hadn’t done this in a long time - if at all. JB began moving things to the edge of the truck to unload. No official start time was called as he spent much of the next three hours on his phone - texting and calling others to try and find a replacement for the other mover who never showed. JB moved at a snails pace - often stopping for 10 minutes before bringing boxes slowly up the stairs on a cart. Eventually, two other men came to help JB. Again, no official start time was called and we didn’t not see when they arrived started working. It was clear at least one of these men was not a professional mover. He did not know wardrobe boxes had handles. It took all three of them to move a dresser up the stairs while yelling at each other. JB charged for all of this time to find replacement movers claiming, “I don’t take breaks.” The cups and wrappers cleaned out of the van after they completed the job would suggest otherwise. After paying an exorbitant bill for a job that was performed at an excruciatingly slow pace we cleaned the trash these “movers” left in our van, photographed the damage to our walls, and turned the boxes that had been left upside down upright before we could begin unpacking. If I could leave zero star for these "movers" it would still be generous.
