These two 'movers' were prompt, had a professional greeting/demeanor, and were courteous, but did not show up prepared. These 'movers' arrived in a BMW, they had no tools or dolly and really didn't look like real movers at all. If Elite Moving would've told me they didn't have a dolly, I would've rented one for them. I was told they would have tools to disassemble a bed, but they asked me for tools.
They started the job at a decent pace, but started wearing thin quite quickly (it was only 75 degrees outside). They didn't damage anything that I could see, but I wasn't watching them most of the time. This 2-man crew had NO CLUE how to properly load a moving truck. I actually had to jump into the truck and start telling them how to load it because they acted like this was the first truck they ever loaded. They didn't stack the boxes very well, and towards the end, they basically piled everything on top of other things into a huge mess. Much of my truckload shifted really badly over the course of 1000 miles. I even offered strap tie-downs and they said they didn't need them.
They stood around in the truck for at least half an hour pondering how to place my belongings. After 2.5 hours, there was still 30% of the household items inside of our small 1200 sq ft home. Myself and my wife had to spend 45 minutes moving items to the curb next to the truck, just so they would finish within 3-hours.
I PAID $100 PER HOUR, A PROFESSIONAL MOVING PRICE, FOR 2 GUYS WHO COULD NOT LOAD A TRUCK ANY BETTER THAN 2 RANDOM GUYS OFF THE STREET for $100! For that price, I should've gotten the BEST MOVERS ON EARTH! I'M VERY DISGUSTED WITH HOW MUCH I PAID ($300) FOR THESE CLUELESS 'MOVERS!' I should've booked Uhaul moving help instead for much cheaper. I will be calling management to demand a partial refund as soon as I get time. Bottom line, I got completely ripped off! I've been on a 1000 mile trip and haven't had time to call yet. I'm VERY dis-satisfied with Elite Moving because they were ANYTHING but 'elite.' I will also write a bad review on the website. The movers showed up at 10:05, which was 5 minutes after our scheduled window (8-10). I asked one of the gentlemen if they had a long drive to get to our house. His response was that he only lived 2 miles away. It is extremely disappointing that the crew chose to show up late for no reason rather than show up on time. Their late arrival caused us unneeded stress because we had to rush to get the other things we had to do that day done in a shorter amount of time. I am also disappointed that there is a 3 hour minimum required for a job that was done in 1 1/2 hours. I would not recommend your company in the future.
