We were called the day before our scheduled loading day to see if they could come one day later due to a scheduling conflict with the company. Wow! The movers were very friendly and respectful. Two of them carried the items from the house. The third one was the person organizing the load in the truck. They were hired for 3 hours and in an effort to meet the time deadline, the packing became “sloppy”. Our things were spread out and nearly touched the trailer door. The bulkhead and ramp had to be strapped to the wall. We had no way to lock our belongings in the truck because the freight company needed access to the ramp or we would be charged $1000. Consequently, we had to repack the last portion of the truck ourselves to secure everything and leave the ramp accessible outside of the bulkhead. In doing so we saved about 4 feet of trailer space that we didn’t have to pay the freight company for. If I am paying a company for doing the loading, we shouldn’t have to adjust things to finish the job.
